NEVÜ Provides Oral and Dental Health Education to Kindergarten Students as Part of Science Cafe Program

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) Faculty of Dentistry and the NEVÜ Science Communication Office continue their “Science Cafe” events, supported by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which aim to transfer scientific knowledge produced in universities to society. As part of the program, under the coordination of Dr. Hilal Erdoğan, Head of the Endodontics Department at the Faculty of Dentistry, Research Assistants Ali Kara (Endodontics), Eyüp Can Alp (Pedodontics), and Fatma Betül Pekgöz Fehimoğlu (Pedodontics), along with students from the Dental Association and the NEVÜ Dental Community, met with students from Nevşehir Pusula Children's Kindergarten.

During the event, children were taught basic information about oral and dental health, correct brushing techniques, the effects of nutrition on oral health, and methods of preventing cavities, both theoretically and practically. The young students experienced an interactive learning experience, practicing correct brushing techniques under the guidance of an expert.

During her remarks at the program, Dr. Hilal Erdoğan emphasized the great importance of establishing oral and dental health awareness at an early age. Stating that NEVÜ has a strong science communication vision that aims to reach all segments of society not only through academic output but also through Science Cafe events and social responsibility projects, Erdoğan noted that the Faculty of Dentistry will continue its awareness-raising activities throughout the year targeting different schools and age groups.
